Endless Mode: How Long Can You Last?
Endless is the survival mode. Pieces get faster as you clear lines, and the board itself fights back: every 30 seconds a new row of wood pushes up from the bottom. Nobody survives forever. The question is how long you last and how much you score on the way.
How Endless mode works
- Two rows to start. The board begins with two rows of wood at the bottom.
- Speed levels every 10 lines. Each level is faster than the last, up to level 21, which most players reach around the seven-minute mark.
- Rising rows. After the first 20 seconds, a new row rises every 30 seconds. Each one has a gap that usually lines up with the row before it.
- It gets heavier. The first five rising rows have a two-cell gap, later ones only one cell. From the eighth rise, about four minutes in, two rows come up at once.
Survival tips
- Clear the rising rows through their gap. Gaps often line up, so one vertical piece or the long bar can open several rising rows at once.
- Keep a buffer. A rising row lifts your whole stack. If you are already near the top when it arrives, there is nowhere to go. Aim to stay in the bottom half.
- Don't build for fours late in the game. Early on, saving a column for a four-row clear pays. Once two rows rise at a time, clearing quickly matters more than clearing big.
- Hard drop to save time. At high speed, the time a piece spends falling is time you don't have.
- Watch the next piece. Plan where the next shape goes before the current one lands.
Endless or Zen?
Both modes have no timer. Zen starts slow and only adds rising rows after 100 lines. Endless puts pressure on you from the first minute. If Zen feels too easy, Endless is the next step.
